START OF THE PROYECT

  1. The Project started within INDAER back in 2006, while searching for an industrial project to be brought to Colombia.
  2. In 2011 an agreement was made and MSN S002 was imported to Colombia by  AIMING (Aero Integration & Manufacturing S.A.S).

  3. In late 2012 INDAER decided to become a partner in the project in order to have S002 flying as a prototype with the purpose of certifying it in Colombia and then in Europe (EASA CS-23).

  4. The prototype arrived at Hangar 12 of Olaya Herrera Airport on June 10, 2012.
     

PROYECT PLANNING

  • Stage 1. Experimental Airworthiness Certificate – UAEAC 
  • Stage 2. Flight Tests, exhibitions and investment search
  • Stage 3. Type Certificate and Serial Production


WHAT DID INDAER?

  • Analog devices were no longer used on the cockpit; instead of that, EFIS digital devices were installed for optimizing current consumption, increasing reliability and redundancy.

  • Additional to the main battery and alternator, three other power sources act as backup batteries for standard attitude indicator, PFD and MFD. 

  • The instruments panel was redesigned in order to locate all the new avionics equipment.

  • Installation of Engine Data Management EDM-930 and ASPEN Evolution 2000 PFM and MFD.

  • Installation of COM 1 - GARMIN GNC-255B and transponder GARMIN GTX-330

  • Installation of Standby Attitude Indicator - RCA 2600, CO detector, G-meter and digital clock:

  • Installation of central instruments panel.

  • Crew Alerting Panel (CAP) - Development, Design, Manufacturing and Installation.

  • Engine Installation after being overhauled.

  • Alternator,  Starter and Propeller Governor Installation.

  • Propeller Installation.

  • PLUS: Folding the wings to the fuselage allows less space for storage (18 square meters). Given the possibility to storage in a short hangers or even to transport on a highway.

  • The aircraft went through a 200 Flight Hour maintenance check in order to confirm airworthiness before had been released to flight.

  • Experimental Airworthiness Certificate - UAEAC.

  • Installation of Hydraulic fluid reservoirs, brake caliper and hard lines routing modification.

  • Canopy lock system manufacturing.

  • Redesign and manufacturing of flap actuator push/pull rod.

  • Modification on Trim Mechanism Rod in order to achieve the complete angular travel required by the surface.

  • A modification on wingtips must to be performed in order to achieve the integration of new Whelen lights model Orion 600.

  • Flight tests program design.

  • Instruments panel modeling and optimization.

  • Avionics equipment tests.

  • First Flight at SKRG on July 16th, 2014 (Flight tests data collection and analysis).

  • Exhibitions and Investment Search.
